My Experience Flying Delta

I learned traveling on delta airlines a very important lesson. Over the New Years weekend I'd traveled down to see some close friends in Kansas City. As is my custom, I flew delta airlines.
* Mainly because they've served me well and I've got lots of sky miles with them because I fly decently often*

The trip went smoothly down to Kansas City and everything seemed to be going perfectly to plan. My past experiences with Delta made me to be overly confident and during conversation with some of my close friends, I boasted that Delta was better then any airline, and professed my confidence in their ability to make the flight on time.  Without any problems whatsoever, I also made the rash claim that Minneapolis was the best airport in the business.

Needless to say, *I'm sure you can all guess what happened next* the flight home was one of the worst I've ever had.

The plane from Kansas to Minneapolis was late, then once we were in the air, we were delayed due to traffic and couldn't land, making us even MORE late. Once finally on the ground I was horrified to find out that my gate had been moved ALL THE WAY across the airport. This meant a mad dash to make my connection.

Luckily after my Sonic the Hedgehog moment of super speed across the treadmill walkways, I finally got to my gate only to find out that... * get this * my connection plane was also late.

One great thing about the Minneapolis Airport is the huge variety of things to do there.  After a food stop and some shopping, I was boarding the plane and ready to fly home.  But my adventure wasn't to end so easily.

While sitting in my seat I checked my watch only to  realize that the plane still hadn't taken off and it was twenty minuets after the supposed departure time. Some of the other passengers, who I quickly became friends with, started realizing the strange delay as well.

During the chatter of people on the plane
* Funny how quickly friendships form in the face of adversity* we began exchanging jokes on the pilots behalf.  "Maybe he's off taking a nap?" one of the fellows in the seat behind me chuckled.

Not ten seconds later, we heard an announcement from delta that the plane was delayed because. "They had no idea where our captain had headed off too." Somehow, midst the stores and restaurants of
Minneapolis, our pilot had managed to miss his own plane.

Soon, they pulled a pilot off another plane bound for someplace near South America to make our connection and a full hour after our estimated departure time we finally taxied away from the gate to * get this* another line.

During our wait, our plane had iced over and been covered in show so it needed deicing. This being the case for quite a few flights, we had to wait another half an hour before our plane could finally receive its beauty treatment.

Then, after a lengthy experience of  the plane being sprayed an finally an hour and forty minuets later we took off.
*this I really didn't mind because it was AWESOME, they shot the plane with this fluid from these star wars thingamabobs of amazingness!!!!! SO COOL *

The lesson I learned from this can be best summed up in this verse;

Proverbs 11:2  When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.
